How Much Loose Leaf Tea Per Cup?
A good general guide is to use one teaspoon of loose leaf tea for each cup of water (about 200–250 ml). Larger leaf teas may require slightly more, while finer teas may need a little less. Adjust the amount to suit your preferred strength. Using the correct tea-to-water ratio helps produce a balanced and flavourful cup.
Standard cup (200–250 ml): 1 teaspoon of loose leaf tea
Small teapot (2 cups): 2 teaspoons of tea
Large teapot (4 cups): 4 teaspoons of tea
For very large leaf teas, such as some oolong or white teas, you may wish to add a little extra tea to achieve a full flavour.
