Assam tea is a black tea named after the region of its production, Assam, India. It is manufactured specifically from the plant Camellia sinensis var. assamica (Masters).

A chocolate brown in colour with a smokey earthy smell.

Assam is not that far from Darjeeling but has a far greater rainfall.

Accounting for 55% of India’s total annual tea production, Assam,  land is rich and fertile with soils delivered by the flowing Brahmaputra river.
